Howl first came into focus while supporting Kaiser Chiefs on their Spring Tour. They were the first support act on (followed by Spring King) which can be a difficult place to be, but they were instantly at ease and delivered an extremely likeable set of catchy songs. Lost kicks off with a twangy indie guitar sound before some tub thumping drums kick in. There’s just the right amount of blast and restraint through the track. Lyrically it’s about youngsters using drugs to medicate and cope with life, when all they need is a little love. I hope we hear more from these guys as they’ve gone a little quiet since the tour – hopefully brewing up something special for 2018.
