10 Reasons to love: Coldplay, Every Teardrop is a Waterfall.

If you can’t think of ten, you don’t really love it.

  • It’s a song about loving music. We all know that feeling of sticking your headphones in, forgetting the world and losing yourself in some sounds.
  • The bagpipe-like guitar sound, reminiscent of Big Country in full flow.
  • Said guitars look like they’ve had a graffiti hit. Nice.
  • At the end of the day, we’d all rather be a comma than a full stop.
  • And who wants to be in the gap between the two trapezes?
  • A darkened room with fluorescent walls, like someone’s gone mad with a giant highlighter pen or three.
  • When it all kicks off at 3:03, you’ve got to admire Chris Martin’s energy and uninhibited bouncing around. I used to dance like that when I was 15 & my parents were out – the epitome of the spirit and joy of music.
  • The breakdown, when we’re just left with the drums at the end, then…
  • Da da da da da da
  • I’m not sure that 60 million views of a video can be wrong!
